The Open University is delighted to be supporting the CBI as a networking sponsor at its flagship conference taking place on Monday 4 November in London.
The conference provides an exclusive forum for the UK's most influential business professionals and political leaders to discuss and debate the state of the economy and critical issues affecting global business today.
The theme of the conference is ‘Getting on track for global success’, exploring the UK’s role in a changing global world.
Open University Director of Communications, Lucian J. Hudson, says: “Equipping the UK workforce with higher skills is essential to our economic growth.
"As the recent Tomorrow’s Growth CBI report recognised, the UK needs much more than just the traditional university route to higher skills. This is why around a quarter of a million students are currently enrolled with The Open University, three-quarters working while they are learning.
"Our unique approach to flexible learning enables employers to help their staff fit study around business priorities.”
Dr Neil Bentley, CBI Deputy Director-General and Chief Operating Officer, says: “The CBI annual conference brings together an influential line-up of business leaders and politicians.
"The day’s debate will cover how best to capitalise on emerging growth markets in Asia and the Americas, while at the same time managing the impact of Europe’s declining output.
"We are pleased to have The Open University join us as a networking partner at what will be an exciting event.”
